Culture Clash

Some of the successes I had were that I applied my learning of placing objects in convincing positions. Also, applying my photoshop skills to create a convincing landscape collage of different images of Chinese and American culture.  A few challenges I had were finding good images for my background, and changing the lighting of some of my images to make them look convincing.  It took me a while to find good images of both cultures that would go well together, but I got enough and I think they make an interesting and convincing scene.  Also, some of my images had different lighting values, so I had to adjust a few to make them fit in with the background more.  When I finished my draft, I went over many times adding detail (making them more convincing) and moving objects around to find a good position for them so that they create an interesting scene with the background.

Holliday Spirit, Roman

As I was taking photos, I noticed the warm pellet stove.  It was heating the whole house all by itself and creating images with it's flame.  I walked over to it and took a few photos to attempt to "tame" the flame.  I think this is one of my best photos of the flame.  Also, I think I captured the flame in a good way as well.

Inspiring Artist: Marcin Jakubowski

Elliot and I did a poster project on the digital artist Marcin Jakubowski.  He does a lot of dark, futuristic type of art, along with cartoons and backgrounds.  I enjoyed researching him and think his art is really neat.

"Food" Roman

As I took this photo, I was thinking of how I could make this simple piece of pie with some mold on it interesting.  I took a few photos in different perspectives and eventually I got a good photo.  Out of all the different photos I took of different foods, this is one of the best surprisingly.  Even though this isn't too interesting of a picture, I think it's simplicity is one of the strong suits this photo has.
